Education for Our Kids: A Collaborative Effort

Build a World Where All Youth Are Safe, Strong & Valued

Who We Are

My name is Delesia Silva, Navy Veteran, wife of a Navy Veteran, Luis Silva, and mother of our 7-year-old son, Elijah Silva. Our journey started after 12 years of trying to conceive with one Fallopian tube pregnancy and one failed IVF. Three months after the Failed IVF, Luis and I conceived naturally. When Elijah was born, we knew we wanted to teach him the magic of compassion and giving. When Elijah turned two we connected with Kathleen’s Corner and Thankful Thinking, charity organizations that give back to the community and provide assistance in Namibia, Africa. We distributed food and toiletries to the San Diego homeless population. We then offered food to the homeless population in riverside county.

What We Do

— We Educate

Educating kids involves teaching them the knowledge, skills, and values that will help them grow into responsible and successful adults. This can take place in a variety of settings, including schools, homes, and community centers. Effective education for kids requires a balance of academic instruction and personal development, as well as a focus on building critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. It is also important for kids to be exposed to a variety of experiences and viewpoints in order to help them understand and engage with the world around them. Overall, the goal of educating kids is to help them become well-rounded, curious, and confident individuals who are prepared to take on the challenges of the future.

— We Build Community Networks

It is a way for individuals and organizations to come together and work towards common goals and objectives and can involve a wide range of activities and initiatives. Some examples of community networking might include organizing events and activities, collaborating on projects and initiatives, sharing resources and information, and advocating for common causes. Community networking can be a powerful tool for building stronger, more connected communities and for fostering collaboration and cooperation among its members. It can also be a way for individuals and organizations to access resources, support, and knowledge that may not be available to them otherwise.

— We Strengthen

Community and people strengthening refers to efforts to improve the well-being and cohesion of our community. This can involve a wide range of activities and initiatives designed to empower and support individuals, families, and organizations within the community. Examples of community and people-strengthening efforts might include providing education and training, creating economic opportunities, promoting health and wellness, and building social and support networks. These types of initiatives can help to build stronger, more resilient communities and can also help to improve the quality of life for the people who live and work there. By investing in the well-being and success of the community and its members, it is possible to create positive, lasting change and build a more sustainable and thriving future for all.
